The United Gifts of the spirit

In God We Trust

Paul writes to the Corinthian church that was struggling with unity amongst the diversity of people that made up the city of Corinth. There was spiritual elitism that led to division, disputes on theological and moral issues and different groups within the church asserted their identities based on the leader they followed and were influenced by. It is amongst this setting that Paul appeals to the church to remain united because of the Gospel’s work amongst them. Because of the crucified and resurrected Christ, they are united through the work of God’s Spirit. In this sermon series, we look at how Paul’s letter to the Corinthian church might lead us to greater and deeper unity by identifying the work of God’s Spirit in our lives and in our world.
