For more than a year, Washington Community Fellowship has been worshiping together while being apart. At first this seemed unthinkable, as our preconceived notions of worship, community, and fellowship were turned on their head and completely reimagined. Nevertheless, today we can celebrate the many ways God has been faithful in meeting our needs and walking with us. I am excited for the new approaches to worship and the lessons learned from the pandemic, and hope that we will continue to reflect and draw from these experiences in the days ahead.
Beginning June 6, WCF will move from an all-online worship service to a hybrid format – combining in person worship in our church sanctuary with online streaming of WCF LIVE for those at home or outside the Washington, DC area. We recognize the rapidly changing public health guidelines and varying perspectives on COVID-19 precautions, but trust that WCF’s plan for reopening provides every person the ability to worship with our community in a way that feels comfortable.
Please go to wcfchurch.org/updates for details of WCF’s reopening plan, including registration requirements, community expectations for wearing masks and staying home when sick, and other COVID policies and protocols.
On behalf of the Worship Commission,
Rebecca Hunt, Deacon for Worship
