Christians don’t hold the corner exclusively on a yearning for a world of love, peace, freedom, mutuality, respect and abundance for all. But the Christian faith does offer a unique and comprehensive view of these admirable qualities as they are revealed in Scripture through a theme we call justice. Justice is typically perceived as punitive and retributive. But Scriptures provide a much more compelling view of justice as restored relationships. The Living God reveals through Scripture how our longings for a just world are simply a longing for a world as God intended - a world that is set aright through God’s son, Jesus. This summer, we will journey through the lectionary readings of the summer months with an eye for God’s justice at work. Join us as we explore God’s Transforming Justice.
