Creation is an overflow of God’s beauty and love. Genesis 1 is the story of beauty--God brings order out of chaos, shalom as a facet of beauty, and human community as the culmination of that beauty. In Revelation 21 and 22, God's Holy City comes down out of heaven from God and the leaves of the tree of life for the healing of the nations, bringing the expected, not accidental, destiny of humanity. This is instructive for the way the church is called to pursue beautiful community today.
